Trains of the Iowa Interstate
The Iowa Interstate Railroad is a large Midwest Regional Railroad. The IAIS trains travel 470 miles over former Rock Island trackage from Chicago, Illinois to Council Bluffs, Iowa. The IAIS uses a fascinating variety of early diesels from EMD and ALCO to transport their trains of unit grain, intermodal, and mixed freight. The IAIS's diesel models include: GP 7, 8, 9, 10, 16 & 38, SD20, SW1200, RS36, C420, and M420's. This exciting video features both switching and road freights plus you'll see numerous towns, grain elevators, ex-Rock Island depots and beautiful Iowa and Illinois scenery. Also the Iowa Interstate's connecting railroads are briefly shown including the Crandic and the P&PU.
