The exciting UP train action includes: road freights, locals, switching and transfers, plus unit trains of sand, coke, grain, potash, sulphur and oil. See the busy UP Yard at Altoona, WI which is home to switching and four daily locals that serve Eau Claire industries and points to the west, north and east. These locals operate with Spartan cab EMD, GP50, GP60, SD40-2, and SD60's. The manifests are usually powered by UP's big GE and EMD widecabs.
